Tea Dance to Celebrate Wokingham Volunteering

As part of the Year of the Volunteer, Age Concern and Wokingham Volunteer Centre have organised a Tea Dance on Saturday 10th September from 5pm to 8pm at the Woodley Age Concern Day Centre. The event has been sponsored by Transco to celebrate the valuable work of volunteers across the district, many of whom are over 50.

Tickets are just £1 and include dancing to a live band and afternoon tea. All Volunteers in the Wokingham District and residents over 50 are very welcome to come along.

‘Build It!’ Workshop Make It ‘n’ Take It Club

We’re turning the Museum into a Building Site! Come and build the strongest straw tower; the biggest newspaper creation; the strongest bridge; the quickest paddle boat and sailing boat - and test them in WATER!; you can even rescue the Queen from a breakdown disaster! There is a prize for the strongest straw tower!

The MINTI ‘Build It!’ Workshops run at the REME Museum of Technology on Sunday 14 August from 10.30 am – 12.30 pm or 1 – 3 pm.

It is the fourth of six Make It ‘n’ Take It (MINTI) Sunday Workshops this year. Every child attending a MINTI Club workshop gets a MINTI Club Reward Card. We’ll stamp your Reward Card at each workshop: collect 3 stamps for a MINTI Club certificate, collect 6 stamps and you’ve won a reward!

Booking is essential. Admission: £6 per child, adults free. All children must be accompanied by an adult; younger children will need parental assistance with the activities. Activities are suitable for 5 – 12 year olds.
